Molasses, the brownish liquid residue, is the final product from sugar processing
left after heat crystallization of sucrose in the process of refining. Molasses
contains sucrose, invert sugar, and water.
From the total amount of cane crushed annually, molasses yield amounts to
about 4.5 – 4.7% with 50 – 54% total sugar as invert (TSAI). Our molasses
market is divided into two main segments, domestic and international markets.
Their proportion depends on cane quantity in each year. |
